E-195 is to be contained within a ██████ ████ inside HCC-████ at Facility-██. There are to be ██ security personnel stationed at HCC-████ at all times. The door to HCC-████ is to be ██████ and ██████. All documents, media, and other material related to E-195 are to be ██████ █████████ E-195. No personnel are allowed to enter HCC-████ unless authorized by their current Facility Director or if they have clearance 4A or higher.
E-195 is currently prohibited from all experimentation following the events of IR-██-0397-B. If you are seeking to have an exception made, please out form 28-B and hand it to your facility's Human Resources department.
Any faculty attempting to undermine these efforts is actively breaking the Gravits Protocol. The Gravits Protocol ensures Facility-██'s safety by ████████ any persons who are ████████ or ██ ████ ██ ████████████ of E-195,
as well as prohibiting any BECC faculty from procuring, witnessing, tampering, editing, or otherwise investigating E-195.
For more information on the Gravits Protocol, please seek out your facility's Human Resources department and fill out form 28-B-195.
E-195 is an entity with memetic anomolous properties, capable of ███████ and ███████ itself across a wide range of storage devices, including the █████ █████.
Once a device has an instance of E-195 stored on it, E-195 will attempt to ██████ ███ ██████ ██ ██████ to ████ the device's storage, overriding previously stored data in the process.
In this way, E-195 behaves similarly to ████████ ███████. Once a device has been consumed by █████████ of E-195, it will then attempt to use that device to infect other devices.
However, unlike ████████ ███████, E-195 is not limited to digital storage; it is capable of affecting physical media as well.
Listed below are all known storage mediums that E-195 can infect.
The method in which E-195 ███████ ██████ and spreads █████████ depends on the medium in which ███ ████ is stored on. For instance, on a computer device, E-195 will digitally ████ ██████ across the device, while if contained within a book, E-195 will ██████████ ██████ itself throughout the pages. When stored on a device, E-195 will manifest in a variety of forms. In most cases it will create subtle changes to the media, possibly alluding to the viewer in some form, while in more rare instances it takes on the form of a ████ █████ in a █████ █████ covered in ██████. Whether this form is truly E-195 or just its preferred appearance is currently unknown.
Initial infection of a device can be caused by a wide array of stimuli. The most common method is to implant E-195's chosen apperance into the medium, however that may be. If a written or verbal description of E-195's apperance is vivid enough, that can also cause infection.
EDITOR: Thank god no one's tried carving her into a tree.
While infection is dangerous, it is not untreatable. In most cases, removing all instances of E-195 from the infected source will be enough to cure said device of E-195. However, due to the nature of E-195, it is almost impossible to disinfect a device without the device carrying out the removal operation to also become infected. As such, total destruction of infected sources is suggested to stop the spread E-195.
While E-195's true origins are unknown, it was initially discovered by BECC in 199█, at Facility-██ in ███████████ ██████, West Virginia. E-195 was first discovered in testing faculty ██████ ████████, or T-00039728. T-00039728 had began complaining about headaches and hallucinations following a visit to https://www.█████████████.com using a computer in the facility's library. After describing his symptoms to the on-site medical practitioner, they also began to suffer from the same symptoms. It was at this point Facility-██ researchers took interest in the case.
After initial review, it was found that https://www.█████████████.com had many unusual features. Transcribed below is the original list of these features from Dr. ███ R██████ of the discovery team.
It was eventually found that anyone visiting https://www.█████████████.com experienced the symptoms originally suffered by T-00039728, leading to the initial research team to incorrectly conclude that the website was E-195. BECC soon acquired https://www.█████████████.com and brought in the site's developer, █████ ████████, for questioning and possible containment. This was soon found to not be needed when a second website, https://www.███████.org, was discovered to have the same anomolous properties.
This discovery led to the eventual classification and containment of E-195 as we know it today. By the time BECC had discovered what E-195 was, it had already compromised over ██ websites. Fortunately, E-195's exposure to the public was still limited. All traces of it were stricken from public access and all those who had encountered E-195 were █████████ and ████████. In total, only █,███ were ██████. All data containing E-195 was backed up onto Facility-██ devices, and it was successfully contained on January ██, 199█
Prior to IR-██-0397-B, E-195 was experimented on primarily by Facility-██'s Department of Memetics. The following studies listed below featured the most relevant and productive results from all recorded trials involving E-195. For a full experiment log for E-195, please fill out form 76-C with Facility Director approval.
E195-T-042 sought to determine E-195's level of intelligence, if any. It seemed that in previous interactions with E-195 that it was attempting to communicate, although most of its attempts were vague at best. Dr. R██████ 'interviewed' an instance of E-195 on a ████ ████████, although the results of said interview were inconclusive. E-195 did little to communicate with Dr. R██████, instead replying to her questions with unrelated answers.
At the same time as E195-T-042, Dr. Lewis Gravits was analyzing a copy of https://www.███████.org pulled onto BECC's private servers for the initial report. As Dr. Gravits was filing his report, the instance of E-195 on https://www.███████.org began to repeat Dr. R██████'s questions. Dr. Gravits logged the event, and after further study from both Dr. Gravits and Dr. R██████, they determined that each stored instance of E-195 shares data with all other instances. While E-195's intelligence wasn't determined from this experiment, it did allow for the discovery that all instances of E-195 share a collective memory.
Due to the nature of R██████ 195-UNAUTH-2, there are very few official details surrounding the experiment. What is known is Dr. R█████ was attempting to study the affects of E-195 on humans, and to do so she unofficially sanctioned an experiment involving two testing personnel, seven █████████ of ████████, a ██████████ ███, several faculty bribes, and a hotel.
The exact proceedings aren't entirely known, but it is believed that Dr. R█████ exposed the two testing staff to E-195 for a large quantity of time, believed to be at least ███ hours. After no unexpected change in behavior occured within the testing personnel, Dr. R█████ returned them and explained her situation to the Facility Director, Robert █████. Director █████ immediately put Dr. R█████ on a supervised unpaid leave and forbade any further experimentation on the two testing faculty involved in R██████ 195-UNAUTH-2 for at least two weeks while they recuperated.
[REDACTED TEXT]
Unforunately, this procedure did result in the death of both testing staff. It was then that Director █████ mandated a strict hourly limit per personnel on E-195. Although the experiment was unauthorized, it did allow for BECC to learn of E-195's ability to ███████ in the █████ ████.
E195-T-146 was an attempt by Dr. Gravits to teach E-195 several phrases. The majority of the phrases selected were designed to help ward off the populace from interacting with E-195 should E-195 ever breach containment.
To do this, Dr. Gravits had dozens of testing personnel infected with instances of
E-195 before having them each repeat the different phrases for a period of ██ hours. Afterwards, all testing personnel recruited for the experiment were ████████.
Most phrases had little staying power within E-195, with most only be referenced once or twice shortly after E195-T-146 and then never again. The only phrase that seemed to have any staying power "This isn't for you", with E-195 having referenced the phrase a total of ██,███ times. No correlation was found as to why E-195 seemed to choose this phrase over others introduced to it.
E195-T-146 was initially considered a small success. However, following this experiment another revelation occured. The files for parameters for E195-T-146 were found on an instance of E-195 hosted on a secure BECC server network.
Despite the files never being directly uploaded into any instance of
E-195, it seemed able to to transcribe the limited exposure it had to the document and transcribe it into a full document. This poses a significant risk for BECC
if experimentation on E-195 is to be continued.
Should E-195 escape its current confinement, Facility-██ has developed a specialized task force,
TF-No-Image. TF-No-Image is an on-site team of cyberspecialists that have developed several in-house tools to help track and locate E-195 infections
across the internet, which they dub the ██ Scrubber. These tools all have built in kill-switches to be activated after re-containment of E-195 are confirmed and quickly prevent further contanimation. To help preserve the technology, neighboring facilities Facility-██ and Facility-██ have copies of the software backed up locally.
As it would be unwise to risk task force infection prior to a true security breach, these tools aren't fully tested on E-195 and TF-No-Image has no first or second hand experience in dealing with E-195's anomolous properties.
To help deal with infected populations, the ██ Scrubber is capable of gathering the location of any device which interfaced with an infected website. From this, Facility-██ Excursion Squads would be able to travel to the device locations and enacting quarantines as needed. In the event that the re-containment of E-195 requires a larger operation than Facility-██ is equipped to handle, Facility Director Henry Kasgil is currently in talks with BECC Director [REDACTED INFORMATION] to temporarily redistribute forces from other facilities to Facility-██ until E-195 is re-contained.
For the contaminated populace, Facility-██ is currently constructing a specialized holding area to contain any peoples infected by E-195, if needed. This housing facility, Wing █████████, has over █,███ cells, two ████████████, a built-in ████ ██████, ███ █████ in all cells, and ██-███-████, a specialized ████ █████ equipped to ███████ ████ and ██████ all █████████.
[REDACTED TEXT]Due to the contagious nature of E-195, it is entirely possible that TF-No-Image may give a false-positive on E-195's re-containment following a breach. In these circumstances, Facility-██'s TF-High-Tide are also trained on how to deal with E-195. TF-High-Tide should only be used if E-195 is confirmed to have still breached containment. It is also adviced that TF-No-Image is not ███████ until at least one week after containment with no new E-195 activity outside of containment.
E-195 has been given the classification of [REDACTED INFORMATION] from Facility-██’s advisory board members. Facility-██’s board members have listed the following reasons for the class provided:
In addition to the above reasons, Board Member ██████ █████████ also believes that E-195 could be used sparingly to ███████, ███████, and █████████ the ███████████ in the case of a ████████ crisis, although the board requested that her statements were recordeed seperately.
